Methodology
This site does no physical testing. No paddle described here was played, measured or lab-tested by the site. Every statement comes from what creators, owners, pros, brands and governing bodies have published, and each one links to its source.
What counts as evidence
- Creator opinions come only from a transcript or article span. A video title, thumbnail or the comments under a video never count as the creator's opinion.
- Every quote is checked by machine against the stored text of its source. If the exact words cannot be found again, the claim does not publish. A video timestamp appears only when the words were found at that time in a timed transcript.
- Each claim is matched to one paddle variant (model, generation, thickness, shape, revision). Matches below a confidence threshold stay off paddle pages and wait for review.
How evidence is weighed
- Owner feedback is stated as "N of M analyzed mention X", with M and the date window shown. It is never a rate or a defect percentage, because the people who write about a paddle are not a sample of all owners.
- Copies count once. A syndicated review, a quote repeated across sites and a chain of sites citing each other all count once, at the original.
- Each creator is one voice per paddle. Follow-up videos extend that creator's timeline; the latest stance is the current one and changes are shown with dates.
- Disclosures (affiliate links, discount codes, sponsorships, free units, brand employment) appear next to the quote they apply to.
- Pro associations are typed: signature product, explicit recommendation, brand-reported use, observed use, sponsorship, brand affiliation. A tie to a brand is never read as use or endorsement of another paddle from that brand.
- Specs carry a status: verified (brand figure and an independent measurement or governing-body list agree), brand reported, conflicting, or unknown.
Written summaries
The short summary on each paddle page is drafted by a language model (Claude) from the verified claims only. Every sentence must cite at least one verified claim; code drops any sentence that cites none, states a rate, uses a number the evidence lacks, or implies the site handled the paddle. Pages without a summary say so.
Independence
Some purchase links are affiliate links and are labeled "affiliate link". Commission rates, whether an affiliate link exists, and who owns a brand are kept out of the evidence pipeline and out of the summary model's input. A code test fails the build if any of those fields reach it.
Ownership disclosure
Paddle Tally is owned by Brian Kerr, who founded the paddle brand Eleven Zero. Eleven Zero paddles go through the same process and carry this notice.
Corrections
When a source is edited or retracted, every page that cites it is rebuilt and the change is logged on that page and in the site changelog.
