At a glance

Who it suits

One creator recommends it for beginner, intermediate and advanced players, noting it is not overwhelmingly explosive for newer players, and calls it an elite paddle at a mid-tier price for everyone short of pro level.[2]

Players who want pop-based power that launches the ball off the face may come away disappointed. The same creator says players chasing the very highest spin should pass.[2]

What the evidence says

Control gets the most agreement among creators. One reviewer could commit to every shot knowing how the ball would come off the face, and another praised its consistency and could add power without the ball exploding off the face.[2, 4] Several reviewers also call it forgiving: mishit soft shots still floated over the net, off-center hits stayed stable, and one creator rates the sweet spot above average for an elongated shape.[1, 2, 4] Creators split on power. One puts it with the best power paddles and another calls the Elongated 16mm the most powerful of its line, while a third says it will not overwhelm anyone from the baseline, though it still ends points without overswinging.[2, 3, 4] Touch is the sharpest disagreement. One creator credits the thicker core with cushion, dwell time and accurate drops, while another found it firm and poppy for drops and dinks, hard to absorb pace with on resets, and behind many Gen 3 paddles for pocketing on flicks.[2, 4] Creators describe it as maneuverable, with one saying it moves through the air quicker than any 16 mm elongated paddle they have seen and another calling the swing weight manageable.[2, 5] Smaller notes: spin scored 9 out of 10, the grip slipped a little with sweat, and the face had no soft spots after 10 hours of play.[2]

More on player fit

Players who rely on soaking up pace in resets or on a pocketing feel for flicks may be better served by Gen 3 options, according to one creator.[4]
